A Friction Pen is, it’s a special kind of pen which ink can be erased by applying heat (ie. lighter flame) under the paper. So for example you draw a 3 of Diamonds with a regular pen, and then use the friction pen to add the lines so they make the 8 of Hearts. You make that as a prediction, force the 3 of Diamonds, turn the prediction over and it turns out to be wrong, you take the lighter, heat the paper, and the 8 of Hearts visually morphs into the 3 of Diamonds.
